Before you book
Do I need a licence to ride the moped?
Our mopeds are under-50cc powered cycles. Our hire conditions: hold a valid car (B) or motorbike licence for at least 3 years, and be at least 25 years old (proof and ID required). These are our own conditions, a little stricter than the rules for a 50cc, so that everyone rides with complete peace of mind.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes: ToursNmob requires you to be at least 25 years old (proof required). You must also have no licence suspension or withdrawal, nor any insurance cancellation, on record.
I've never ridden a moped, is it difficult?
No need to worry: they're easy to get the hang of and a briefing is given before you set off. Depending on your level and the group size, you can be guided. And yes… you sometimes have to pedal a little up the hills, just like back in the day!
Can we come as a group?
Yes, up to 15 mopeds. It's perfect with friends, as a family, for a stag or hen party, a birthday or a corporate away-day.
Can I come alone, or is there a minimum number of people?
No minimum: you can absolutely come on your own! A solo ride has bags of charm — you ride at your own pace, we brief you at the start and guide you if you wish. Solo, as a pair or fifteen strong, the pleasure is the same.
Can two people ride the same moped?
No, for safety and legal reasons: one person per moped only.
Equipment & the ride
What should I wear or bring?
The approved helmet and gloves are provided (you may use your own if they're approved). Bring closed shoes, trousers (jeans preferably), and avoid short sleeves. A backpack is recommended for extra comfort.
What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?
We're open all year round, and a little drizzle doesn't scare us: the Touraine countryside even has a real charm under a changing sky. But safety and enjoyment come first: if genuinely poor weather is forecast on the day of your outing, don't worry — we'll offer to move it to a later date. We simply talk it through together to find the slot that suits you.
Is fuel included?
Yes, the moped is handed to you with a full tank. Note: our mopeds run on an oil/fuel mix — refuelling them yourself is not allowed (risk of engine damage), we take care of it.
Are the mopeds insured?
Yes, all our mopeds are insured. They are perfectly maintained, with no compromise on safety or mechanics.
Is a security deposit required?
Yes, a security deposit is required — simply via a card pre-authorisation: no money is taken, the pre-authorisation stays a plain guarantee and is only used if the moped is damaged. The exact amount is confirmed when you book. Our machines are pampered and perfectly maintained: ride easy, the deposit is just a common-sense formality.
Can we eat during the ride?
Yes! Some packages include a lunch break - either at a restaurant or outdoors with a picnic. With all packages, you can make stops to rest and enjoy the scenery.

Is a deposit payment required to book?
Yes: to confirm your booking and lock in your date, a deposit of 40% of the package price is required. That's what definitively confirms your slot and lets us reserve the mopeds for you. The balance is paid on the day of the ride. Once the deposit is received, your place is guaranteed — all that's left is to prepare your best smile for the photo in front of the vines!
Where is the starting point?
We're in the village of Anché (37500), a few kilometres from Chinon. The exact address of the meeting point is shared with you when you book.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes, for every occasion (birthday, Christmas, Mother's/Father's Day, Valentine's Day, retirement…). Each gift card is valid for 1 year from its issue date: plenty of time for the lucky recipient to pick the right moment for their ride. An original gift that always makes an impression!
