How does it work?
A few simple rules so your ride goes smoothly and safely.
Requirements
- Be at least 25 years old (proof required)
- Hold a valid car or motorbike licence for at least 3 years (proof required)
- Have no licence suspension/withdrawal nor any insurance cancellation on record
- Obey the Highway Code
- Stay alert to other road users
- One person per moped, and never lend the vehicle
- Wear clothing suitable for riding a powered two-wheeler
- Wear the mandatory equipment provided (helmet and gloves) for the whole ride
Equipment & clothing
The mandatory safety equipment (approved helmet, gloves and hi-vis vest) is provided. You may use your own approved gear if you prefer. Although the regulations are fairly relaxed, we strongly recommend suitable clothing:
- Closed shoes (no flip-flops, sandals or heels)
- Trousers, ideally jeans (no shorts, bermudas, skirts or dresses)
- Long sleeves rather than short
Good to know
The mopeds are insured and delivered with a full tank. They run only on an oil/fuel mix: refuelling them yourself is not allowed (risk of engine damage) — we take care of it.
These machines offer less performance and comfort than a modern vehicle: anticipate your braking, adjust your pace, and don't hesitate to pedal up the hills… just like back in the day!
